Westbury family van dealer impressed with Toyota telematics services

In the words of Ferris Bueller, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it.” Toyota doesn’t want you to miss a thing and that’s why they keep devising ways to keep you connected, safe and comfortable whether you’re moving fast or slowing down for the view.

Toyota is staying at the forefront of technology not just when it comes to hybrids and safety, but in communication venues as well. Long Island Toyota Avalon buyers will be able to save time and money with this new technology from Microsoft.

In an announcement recently Toyota and Microsoft said they have “forged a strategic partnership and plan to build a global platform for TMS’s next-generation telematics services using the Windows Azure platform.” Telematics allows technology systems and devices like communication, GPS and safety to work together through a single system.

This is one reason Toyota has stayed on top in the auto industry – its ability to continually move forward with the latest developments and customer demands. Your Westbury family van dealer is pleased that Toyota has moved ahead quickly with this service.

“This new partnership between Microsoft and Toyota is an important step in developing greater future mobility and energy management for consumers around the world. Creating these more efficient, more environmentally advanced products will be our contribution to society,”  Akio Toyoda, president of Toyota, explained. “To achieve this, it is important to develop a new link between vehicles, people and smart center energy-management systems.”

Adding such a system allows Toyota to compete with other hybrid brands like Nissan and Ford who already are using similar technology. Some of Toyota’s 2012 models are sporting this new system and that comes at a great time – along with the Plug-in Prius.

Toyota also has included a smart-grid on its system that will enable the cars to connect and interact with homes and other mobile systems. Not only will this increase safety and efficiency in driving, but will allow drivers to find the closest fueling or charging station and get the best rates.

This new system also will let drivers control features like climate control and charging by remote. A smart phone also can access battery charge levels, which is handy for the driver in a time crunch.  Your Long Island Toyota Avalon dealer is excited about customers trying the system.

Westbury family van buyers will find this system in the Toyota Plug-in Prius and Prius C first, although the date it will arrive in the U.S. has not been officially announced. But your dealer can give you all the details about when they arrive and let you try one on for size when they do.

International Essential Tremor Foundation to Facilitate Educational Seminar via Live Webinar

Lenexa, KS (PRWEB) July 24, 2014

The International Essential Tremor Foundation (IETF) will host a free seminar in Nashville, Tenn. on the life-altering neurological condition called essential tremor (ET) which will be simulcast nationwide through a live webinar. The seminar will take place on Saturday, August 16, at the Hutton Hotel located at 1808 West End Avenue and will also be available to view online. The program will run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with a question and answer session with the physicians directly following the presentation. Questions will also be received from the Internet audience. More information and event registration is available by phone (toll free) at 888.387.3667 or on the web at http://www.essentialtremor.org/seminars.

Essential tremor patients, family members, caregivers, and health care providers are invited to attend this special, free, educational seminar. Local physicians Fenna Phibbs, MD – Movement Disorders Neurologist and Hong Yu, MD – Neurosurgeon with Vanderbilt University Medical Center, will discuss the diagnosis process for essential tremor, commonly prescribed medications, surgical options, current scientific research, support groups and more. Cissy Voight from STAR Physical Therapy will also discuss physical therapy options with participants. Attendees will be provided with an essential tremor information packet to take home and share with friends, family and their own health care providers. Refreshments will be served and parking is free.

“The IETF is dedicated to offering hope to those affected by essential tremor,” explains Catherine Rice, IETF executive director. “The Foundation actively works to generate greater awareness of the condition, fund critical scientific research in order to fully understand the causes of ET and offer support to those affected by this life-altering condition. At these seminars people will gain a better understanding of their condition and what options for treatment are available. Hopefully they will also realize, as they look around the room, that they are not alone in this condition; that there are millions all over the world affected, just like them.”

ET, which affects nearly 10 million people in the U.S., is the most common neurological movement disorder, but is frequently misdiagnosed as Parkinson’s disease. The condition is often characterized by rhythmic, involuntary and uncontrollable shaking of the hands and arms during movement, making daily tasks such as eating, drinking and writing difficult if not impossible. Sometimes ET can also affect the head, voice, legs and trunk. At this time there is no cure for essential tremor.

About The International Essential Tremor Foundation:

Headquartered in Lenexa, Kan., and founded in 1988, the International Essential Tremor Foundation is the leading organization in the world dedicated to those affected by essential tremor. The mission of the IETF is to fund research that will find the cause of essential tremor and lead to better treatments and a cure, increase awareness about ET, and provide educational materials, tools and support to healthcare providers, the public, and those directly affected by ET.

The IETF has distributed more than $ 750,000 in research grants, to fund 30 promising studies, in the search for the cause of ET. The Foundation has hosted numerous community awareness events across the U.S. to provide those affected with the basic knowledge necessary to become their own advocate when seeking treatment. And, the IETF also provides assistance to a vast network of support groups around the world. Jade Eatery and Lounge Launches its Newly Updated Website, which Debuts the Enticing 2014 Menu and an Impressive Online Virtual Tour of the Restaurant by Google

Forest Hills, NY (PRWEB) July 22, 2014

Nestled into a cobblestone square just off Austin Street, Jade Eatery & Lounges’ address hints at why Jade is said to be “Forest Hills hidden gem”. The space integrates a zen-like atmosphere with inspirational quotes that adorn the walls and a serene koi pond presenting a large Buddha statue smiling benevolently on guests guiding them to a choice entree.

Jade Eatery and Lounge philosophy was to combine music, aroma and aesthetics to capture a unique gastronomic experience, hence the motto, “Indulge Your Senses”.

As a neighborhood Asian restaurant catering to local and visiting patrons, Jade strives to maintain quality and consistency. The concept provides favorite Pan-Asian and southeast Asian dishes, as well as creative culinary innovations that have become neighborhood favorites. With signature dishes like Sushi Pizza and Calcutta Chicken, the group focuses on optimizing select ingredients and transforming them into exotic flavor profiles. That is Jade Eatery and Lounges’ committed culinary mission.

Guests can choose to dine in the main dining room or the copper bar, which offers more seating options and cabana beds. The area is illuminated with a warm glow, while draped silk separates it from the main dining area, creating an intimate lounge space. Guests can also enjoy the al fresco dining experience tucked away in the Tudor-style, cobble stoned village that is Station Square.

Designed to accommodate large groups, the Dharma Lounge provides a private venue with an open floor plan that offers flexibility in the layout, perfect for special events such as wedding receptions, commitment ceremonies, bar/bat mitzvahs, and corporate dinners. It has been elegantly furnished with Moroccan imports to offer a cultural haven for guests seeking something extraordinarily special.

Connecting the copper bar to the Dharma lounge, Jades’ Art Gallery and World Shop combines art and culture with a distinct culinary experience. Supporting neighborhood artists, the Art Gallery hosts bi-monthly exhibits showcasing a variety of local talent. Private and public previews of the art installations are hosted regularly. The World Shop features collectibles from around the globe such as custom jewelry, hookahs and Buddhas.

Located directly across the LIRR station, the 8,000 sq ft restaurant has become a popular destination spot since its opening in 2006. Just one block separates it from the crowds and boutiques on Austin Street.

“Something of the terraced garden effect of the northern section of Italy. Station Square is one of the most successful public spaces in New York City, certainly equal or superior in design and effect to something like the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan” -House Beautiful magazine (1914)
