Edward Monkton Gifts

I’m sure you have heard of Edward Monkton gifts, but do you know the story behind it?

Well here are some interesting bits of trivia for you. The persona of Edward Monkton was the creation of British poet, Giles Andréa. This Purple Ronnie cartoon – a stick line man who is perpetually reciting daft limericks has enthralled people in the UK for many years. There are cheeky greeting cards created with this persona and they are extremely popular with the British population. The poems of Purple Ronnie often contained mildly objectionable language and taboo subjects. This character gained further popularity because he appeared in a TV ad for a popular soft drink.

Giles Andréa’s, Edward Monkton series contains a number of characters that have some quaint personality traits that make them amusing and popular with the public. The amusing philosophies and stories and their wisdom are the theme of many a greeting cards, gift items as well as memorabilia.

The greeting cards of the Edward Monkton series often have minimalist illustrations and almost childlike simplicity. Usually they are drawn in black ink with a white background; they often are full of wit and provide an amusing and insightful commentary on love, life and other such relationships. Most of these greeting cards are blank inside so that the customer can use it to suit his needs.

Some Edward Monkton characters are also created in an array of colors especially the ones used in gifts and memorabilia. They range from such products as, attractive lapel pins, cuddly toys and attractively shaped scented soaps.

Characters of Edward Monkton series have the following traits, they are charming, mischievous, and occasionally don’t make much sense. In fact these very qualities make so lovable and this can be attributed as a reason for their popularity with people of all age groups..

I’m listing some of the favorite Edward Monkton characters,

The first one is the Penguin of Death, now don’t be deceived by its appearance, this one can actually be quite deadly. Two important traits of the Penguin of Death are it is strangely attractive perhaps due to its enigmatic smile and the other trait is quite deadly as true to its name it can kill you in some 412 ways.

This adorable character is sold as a cuddly toy, a scented soap as well as a cuddly key ring plus an attractive lapel pin.

Another quaint character in the series is the Sheep of Destiny; this perpetually happy and talented Sheep of destiny is ever smiling as it can see your future.

This amusing character is sold as a soft and cuddly key ring, a n eye catching lapel pin as well as greeting cards that can be used on all occasions.

The Pig of Happiness should not be omitted out of this list as it is extremely popular with its cheeky grin that stretches from ear to ear. Its motto is that its joyful smile should remind you of all the reasons why you should be happy.

This one is available as a key ring, a scented soap bar, a lapel pin as well as greeting cards for all seasons.

Rock Pig, Madness Hamster and the cat of glory are some more characters in this series and they are also sold as cute collectible items. The best part about them is they are for all seasons.

Careys Manor Hotel & SepSpa Appoint New Executive Chef To Redevelop Its Fine Dining Restaurant

(PRWEB UK) 27 October 2014

The Hampshire based award winning hotel is excited to announce the appointment of its new Executive Chef Paul Peters, who has high aspirations for the re-development of the fine dining Manor Restaurant.

Paul’s modern European style of cooking fuses modern techniques with classical training.

“I like to use local ingredients in a worldly way reinterpreting a dish to take advantage of the local area’s rich natural resources”.

Prior to his appointment at Careys Manor Paul was Executive Head Chef at a number of three AA Rosette restaurants and at four and five star hotels in London.

These include the Jaan Restaurant at the Swissotel, The Howard and ‘Mju’ Restaurant at The Millennium in Knightsbridge and the Mary Green Manor Hotel in Brentwood, Essex.

His was most recently the creative force behind the Black Swan in North Yorkshire giving seasonal, Yorkshire produce a modern and exciting twist.

Australian-born, Paul is a driven and ambitious family-man who began his culinary journey whilst growing up in Sydney.

His father had been a chef in the army and from the age of 9, Paul fondly remembers helping his Mum cook and enjoying barbeques full of delicious seafood with family and friends.

Having bought a copy of Nico Ladenis’ book Paul made plans to develop his career in the UK; arriving in January 2000 to spend five months as a Junior Sous Chef at the Lygon Arms in Broadway.

He went on to work with Nico Ladenis himself at Chez Nico and John Burton-Race at The Landmark Hotel in London and Marco Pierre White at the Hampstead Brasserie, ‘MPW London’.

Speaking of his passion for food and his move to Careys Manor , Paul states,

“I firmly believe that if you love food it will love you back. I’ve built my career on loving what I do. Coming to work every day is not a chore, it’s fulfilling my passion for food.

“I’m really excited about my move to Careys Manor Hotel and being involved in the re-development of the Manor Restaurant. I’m working on designing a new menu concept centered on my passion for local, seasonal and ethical produce.

“It will be a gastronomic tour of Hampshire, not just in terms of taste, but a complete dining experience, delighting all the senses”.

The opening of the new restaurant is planned for winter 2015 but guests are already being wowed by Paul’s dishes.

One of Paul’s favourite ingredients is scallops, which he combines with cauliflower to produce one of his signature dishes of ‘Seared Scallops with Caramelised Cauliflower Florets, Hazelnut Dressing and Sherry Vinegar’.

We would love to welcome guests along to the Manor Restaurant to try Paul’s dishes for themselves. Our Dinner, Bed and Breakfast package starts from £104.50 per person.

Festival AltreMenti arriva a Rimini

AltreMenti sbarca a Rimini. Il festival culturale che alla sua terza edizione si interrogherà sul tema Diversità.
